I designed the album for Ben Platt, a musical theater actor and pop singer, whose most notable musical work is DEAR EVAN HANSEN. The first time I heard him live was in the Broadway musical Parade. I recognized a woody, textured scent in his music and voice, and I used that visual impression to create
a typographic representation of his name. I sketched it on paper and then redrew it as a vector. Using this typography as the main element, I designed the interior patterns and sticker.
My intention was to create a royal and noble image to reflect the grand and colorful scale of his album 'King of the World'.
